Hi Gordan, thanks for your interest in the information on Marshalling areas that I posted on the forum. Been collecting infomation on it for the last 14 years. A good ref. is the 175th Unit history Jan - Dec. 1944. . It has the Station list of its Battalions, also used a couple of maps which had the Marshalling areas marked out on them, one from the Cornwall Police & one from a U.S. vet who used it prior to D - Day to locate broken down vehicles on the traffic routes. Ref to 104th Med. Battalion I have not found L.S.T. 469 on my loading list during 1st & 2nd June 44. Looking for info on the 224th F.A. prior to D - Day . Regards Bob. 29th Lets go!

Bob -- sorry for the delay; work just got too much all of a sudden. I wanted to thank you for the source ideas. I don't suppose that your loading list breaks down the LSTs by unit? Thanks again for the info-- Gordon

Bob-- thanks for the atlantikwall reference -- lots of good stuff in there. I've heard about Bradley addressing the 29th, but don't have any details, I'm afraid. There's nothing in my father's letters, but I'll keep my eye open for that and for the other units you mentioned as well. Best -- Gordon

Hi listed below by Bob are details of which LST's loaded at Turnaware point Cornwall in June 1944. I have noticed that LST 325 is not listed, but I have got documentation confirming that this ship was loaded at this hard on 1st June 1944. Also I have read that Turnaware and Tolverne hards were not used for the D Day embarkation, but only used for the training exercises (exercise duck etc). The hard reference for these is PF1 & 2, but they are also referred to as hard 5 and 5-1. Where does the 5 reference come from can anyone please clarify my query above thanks

You are right,I left out LST 325. I have checked my copy of the official Falmouth loading list from Falmouth Harbour Master Records, via Mr P. Newman. Tolverne. There is a 1944 typing mistake, someone has put LST 355 docking twice, It took around 6 hours for these LST to load & move out for the next one to load. So LST 325 docked just after 0300, 2nd June 1944 6 hours later at just after 0900 it left PF-2 (Turnaware) & sailed for berth S.5 fully loaded with troops & vehicles. A total of 26 LST loaded on 1st & 2nd June 1944 from PF -1 (Tolverne) & PF -2 (Turnaware). bound for Omaha Beach. If you check out the famous photo of 29ers marching down to Trebah Hard, on the wall behind the MP,s is what I think is a Hard 5 sign. Regards, Bob.

Does anybody know precisely where I can find the most up to date newly qualified vacancies with this law firm? I have already tried Latest Law Jobs yet their employment advertisements do not disclose the full name of the law firm. There are lots of newly qualified associate jobs on the internet however, the issue is that a lot of these jobs are via recruitment companies that do not disclose the law firm names. Any advice would be much appreciated.
